Death record of "Isaac du Gourne" (translated from the French by JFS):
On October 27, 1735, the body of Isaac du Gourné was buried in the cemetery of this church, aged about 95 years, while alive he was the husband of of Petronille de Lespine.  He died on the preceding day.  Present at the burial were the undersigned Gabriel Lecomte, Claude Matrinelle.

His age at death of "about 95 years" is very unlikely, since his youngest daughter was born a year earlier.  Leveque suggests that 75 years was more likely, putting  Frederic's birth at about 1660.

His given name was recorded as "Isaac" only, starting in 1731.

In the Malabre manuscripts her year of birth is given as 'about 1753' based on the age of 90 which was reported as her age at death. She could not have been 90, as at the time of her marriage in 1778 she was a minor, under the age of 21. This would have put her year of birth at some time between 1758 and 1763.

The following is from the Malabre manuscript:
Born in Cuba in 1828. Paul emigrated to New Orleans, La., with his parents. During the American Civil War he became Lieutenant Colonel and Commander of de Gournay's Heavy Artillery, C.S.A. He was afterwards French Consul at Baltimore, Md. where he died on July 26, 1904, aged 76. He was the last male de Gournay of the Michel Isaac de Gournay branch.

His parentage given in the manuscript conflicts with that reported on his death certificate, which states that his parents were Joseph B. deGournay and Marie la Fevre, both born in France.  The manuscript states that his parents were Francois Victor de Gournay and his wife Jeanne Marie nee Lagourgue.
