In making this announcement the Vicar Apostolic is fulfilling a duty imposed on him by friendship and gratitude; and he is sure that he will find the same sentiments in the hearts of those especially of the Faithful in the Vicariate who have the good fortune to have known Father Duquesnay, and to have been the objects of his zeal and his truly priestly charity. Tomorrow at 6.30 o'clock there will be a solemn Mass of Requiem for the Reverend Arthur Le Mercier Duquesnay, former coworker with the Very Reverend Benito Fernandez, Vicar Apostolic of Jamaica.''

Information from Mr Trist Wood:

Baron Boisfontaine

"Pierre Joseph Baron Boisfontaine in 1840 was living near Ste Foy near Bordeaux, France. He was then 67, and his wife's name was Aimee Duquesnay, (whether she was living 1840 not stated.)

His brother Pierre came to New Orleans in 1802 or 3. Served in British Army. In 1835 was living at Madisonville, La. aged about 58.

I received this information from their half brother, Sussex Davis, son of Col. Samuel Boyer Davis by his 2nd wife. Rose, sister of Pierre Joseph and Pierre, was Col. Davis's first wife.

I see I have reference to marriage act, Pierre Joseph names of witnesses, etc. But don't know what's become of it, I suppose this was his marriage act with Mlle Duquesnay.

'Baronne de Boisfontaine' is, of course, an error. She was wife of Mr. Baron Boisfontaine".

(end of quotation from Mr Wood).
