Jacques le Mercier, Esc., Sieur de Monferon who married Louise de Malhortie on October 9 1635. Louise was a daughter of Marguerin de Malhortie, Esc., Sieur de la Varenne, and it was she "qui lui apporte en dot le fief du Quesnay". [brought him as her dowry the fief of Quesnay].

Jacques le Mercier married Secondly Francoise le Pere, on March 25 1638. Francoise was the daughter of Claude Sieur de la Montagne, and of his wife Catherine de Faverolles.

Nicholas le Mercier du Quesnay who was born December 5 1691.

Nicholas married FIRSTLY: Jeanne Ancelm, on February 28 1718. Jeanne was the daughter of Gabriel Ancelm and of his wife Marthe Nezeau.

Nicholas married SECONDLY: Julienne Carmel, on December 2 1719. Julienne was the daughter of Jacques Carmel and of his wife Marie Alerand.

Nicholas married THIRDLY: Marie Jeanne Bonfils veuve [widow of] de Vincent de Lanoe

on 14 February 1741. Marie Jeanne died May 7th 1755. Nicholas le Mercier du Quesnay died in 1759.

Claude le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes (France), on March 30 1719. On February 28 1747, Claude married Anne Blot. Claude le Mercier duQuesnay died October 5 1759.

Marie le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France). She was Baptized on August 21 1720. Marie married Jean Guitton, son of Francois Guitton. She died in Saint Domingue, West Indies.

Denis le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France). He was Baptized on October 12 1723.

Francois le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France). He was Baptized October 19 1723.

Guillaume le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France). He was Baptized May 17 1726.

Julienne le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France), on May 13 1727, and who died on July 12 1729.

Jeanne le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France), on June 24 1732. Jeanne married Jean Gesnier. She died on 17 September 1778.

Anne Francoise le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France) and who was Baptized on July 27 1733. Anne Francoise married Pierre Faytaud, (Medecin [doctor]). She died in Guadeloupe, West Indies, in 1783 leaving no children.

Joseph le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes,( France), and who was Baptized on November 15th 1734.

Francois le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France), and who was Baptized November 15th 1734. He married Marie Gournier.

Claude Francoise le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France), and who was Baptized October 8 1736.

Rene le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France), and who was baptized November 12th 1737.

The Issue of Nicholas le Mercier du Quesnay, (1691-1759), and of his THIRD wife, Marie Jeanne Bonfils, were:

1) Jean le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France). and who was Baptized December 17 1741.

2) Philippe le Mercler du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France) on November 20 1742. On February 12th 1771, Philippe married Marie Francoise le Febvre, daughter of Guillaume le Febvre and of his wife Marie Francoise Letourneau.

Philippe le Mercier du Quesnay died at St Marc, Saint Domingue, West Indies, on March 23 1795. Philippe was a "Capitaine au Regiment de Dessonce"; his wife, Marie Francoise le Febvre, Dame le Mercier du Quesnay, died in Kingston, Jamaica, on August 1st 1818. According to Fr Delany's History of the Catholic Church in Jamaica, Philippe was at one time a resident of Gonaives, Saint Domingue. Marie Francoise was present at the marriage of her son, another Philippe, to Mdlle Duverger at Kingston on November 29th 1803.

3) Nicholas le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes,(France), April 13 1744, and who died unmarried at New Orleans, La., U.S.A. Nicholas was a Doctor.

4) Claude le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France), and who was Baptized on December 10 1745.

5) Jeanne le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes,(France), and who was Baptized

November 3 1747. She married Charles Cesar de Sanlecque on November 21 1778.

6) Guillaume le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France), and who was baptized December 11 1748.

The issue of Claude le Mercier du Quesnay, (17191759), and of his wife, Anne Blot, were:

Claude le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France), March 23 1749, and who died unmarried on July 24 1768.

Jean Julien le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France), on October 30 1750, and who married Jeanne Marie Gilon.

Jean le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Nantes, (France), July 24 1752, and who died unmarried.

1) Marie Elizabeth le Mercier du Quesnay (veuve Chaudec). She was born at Cap Francois, Saint Domingue, October 1 1764.

Marie Elizabeth married Firstly ___ Chaudec.

and married Secondly Jean Jos. Fouque, son of Lazare Fouque, and of his wife Clara Julsen.

Marie Elizabeth died at New Orleans, La., USA, February 24 1844.

In Saint Domingue Indemnity records, she is listed as:

"Lemercier Duquesnay (Marie Elisabeth) veuve Chantucq en premieres noces et en secondes noces du sieur Fouque."

2) Anne Lise le Mercier du Quesnay who was born in Saint Domingue, and who married ___ du Dore. She died at Bordeaux, France.

3) Elizabeth le Mercier du Quesnay who was born in Saint Domingue, and who died at Bordeaux, France.

The Issue of Philippe le Mercier du Quesnay (1742 - 1795), and of his wife Marie Francoise le Febvre, were:

Philippe le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Gonaives, Saint Domingue, West Indies, on December lst 1771.

Philippe married FIRSTLY: Marie Francoise Duverger, daughter of Sebastien Duverger and his wife Marie Madeleine Joly. This marriage took place in Kingston, Jamaica, on November 29th 1803.*1 Marie Francoise died in 1813, and Philippe married SECONDLY, Marie Louise Felicite Reynier de la HayeVauvert, (17821837), daughter of Jacques Reynier de la Haye-Vauvert, Chevalier de Saint Louis, and of his wife Elizabeth Leysson.

Philippe le Mercier du Quesnay died at Kingston, Jamaica on April 28 1825.

(Note.* November 29th is the date given in Fr Delany's History of the Catholic Church in Jamaica. I had it as September 28th.)

Marie Claudine Francoise le Mercier du Quesnay who was born In Saint Domingue and who married FIRSTLY: Jean Andre (jeune) and SECONDLY: Pierre Joseph Baron de Boisfontaine. The Baron de Boisfontaine marriage contract is dated September 25 1797. Marie Claudine Francoise died at St Loy in the Department of the Gironde, France, on November 11 1856.

Jeanne Marie Marcelle le Mercier du Quesnay who was born in Saint Domingue and who married at Kingston, Jamaica, on June 28 1802, Jean Henri Sophie Achille Onffroy, son of Jacques Roland Onffroy, Seigneur de la Gaudinelaye, de la Rosiere, de Varennes, Marquis de Veres ou Veret, and of his wife Louise Augustine du Frene de Virel.

The Issue of Philippe le Mercier du Quesnay (1771-1825), and of his FIRST wife, Marie Francoise Duverger ( __ -1813), were:

Marie Francoise Uranie le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Kingston, Jamaica, on August 30th 1801 and who married there Jean Baptiste Guillaume Duverger, her cousin. Jean Baptiste Guillaume was the son of Georges Guillaume Duverger and his wife Marie Charlotte Superville. Marie Francoise Uranie, Dame Duverger died at Kingston, Jamaica, July 3rd 184l. (I also had the birth year as 1804).

Victor Achille le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Kingston, Jamaica on November 10 1805 and who married Marie Josephine Hermance Marin Destouches on February 3rd 1829. Marie Josephine Hermance was born at Santiago de Cuba. She was the daughter of Jos. Marin Destouches and of his wife Anne Marguerite Pauline le Febvre.

Victor Achille le Mercier du Quesnay died on May 23 1830, and his wife Marie Josephine Hermance died April 16 1832.

Charles le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Kingston, Jamaica, June 24 1807. On August 11 1836, at Rennes, Brittany, Charles married Marie Corinthe de Grisolles, daughter of Ed. Toussaint de Grisolles and of his wife Marie Lande. Charles was a Comandeur de l'ordre d'Isabelle la Catholique. He died at New Orleans, La., U.S.A. November 14 1876.

Marie Arthur Guillaume le Mercier du Quesnay, PRIEST.

Fr le Mercier du Quesnay was born at Kingston, Jamaica on December 29 1808. He studied at Montmouillon, Poitou, entered the Seminary at Rouen and was there ordained to the

Priesthood. He arrived in Jamaica in 1834 and remained in the Island until 1845. He then went to New Orleans, La., by way of the Bahama Islands. In New Orleans Fr du Quesnay became successively curate and pastor of St Augustine's Church. He died in New Orleans, October 20 1858. (Information from Fr Delany's History of the Catholic Church in Jamaica. Quotation from the "TimesPicayune" of New Orleans, La. Wednesday 24 February 1937 in which appeared a picture of Fr du Quesnay and this caption: "The Rev. Marie Guillaume Arthur le Mercier

du Quesnay, rector of St Louis Cathedral from 1855 to 1858, whose remains are interred in the Cathedral vaults, was eulogized Tuesday night at a meeting of the Louisiana Historical

Society. This likeness is from one of the 10,000 engravings from a portrait by A. Duperly pere which was distributed at his funeral. At that time the Abbe du Quesnay was first cannon of the City, ranking next to the Archbishop, the Most Reverend Antoine Blanc". (End of quotation from the New Orleans "TimesPicayune".

The Issue of Philippe le Mercier du Quesnay (17711825), and of his second wife, Marie Louise Felicite Reynier de la HayeVauvert, (1782-1837), were:

Philippe Armand le Mercier du Quesnay who was born in Kingston Jamaica, on June 22 1815, and who married there on August 4th 1836, Marie Rose Francoise Constance Hanus de Jumecourt, daughter of Charles Arnold Augustin Hanus de Jumecourt, and of Marie Elisabeth Sophie Morin, his wife. Marie Rose was born in Kingston on June 23 1812 and died at New Orleans, La., 27th April 1892. Philippe Armand died at New Orleans, La., October 13 1892.

Antoine Joseph Ulysse le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Kingston, Jamaica, November 20 1816, and who married there Charlotte Delfosse.

Jean Baptiste Henri le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Kingston, Jamaica, March 10 1819.

Jacques Urbain le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Kingston, Jamaica, July 31 1820. Jacques Urbain was married but the name of his wife is not known to us at present. He died in Kingston (we believe), Jamaica in 1882, and we saw his tomb at the present Catholic cemetery a great many years ago.

The Issue of Victor Achille le Mercier du Quesnay, (1805- 1830), and of his wife, Marie Josephine Marin Destouches, was:

Charles Achille le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Kingston, Jamaica on November 26 1829, and who died at Kingston, Jamaica on January 13 1859.

The Issue of Charles le Mercier du Quesnay (1807-1876), and of his wife Marie Corinthe de Grisolles were:

Marie Charles le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Kingston, Jamaica, May 25 1837, and who married, on February 14 1859, Louise Angela Desforges, daughter of Louis Adolphe Desforges, and of his wife Marie Eliza Blanchet. Marie Charles died at New Orleans, La., USA., September 18 1900.

Marie Mathilde Isabelle le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Kingston, Jamaica, January 28 1839, and who married Ernest Cornu de Liverniere on February 6 1858.

Marie Eugenie le Mercier du Quesnay who was born at Kingston, Jamaica, March 28 1841 and who died at New Orleans, La., U.S.A., May 25 1855.
