        1.  Mary1 Hyde was born Bet. 1669 - 1674 in other than Jamaica, and died July 1756.  She married (1) Lawrence Halstead August 25, 1688 in St. Catherine1, son of Lawrence Halstead and ? (Halstead).  He was born Bet. 1663 - 1668, and died 1696. [See Halstead below.]   She married (2) Capt. Randyll Emily2 Bet. 1697 - 1709, son of Maximilian Emily and Jane Randyll.  He was born Bet. 1674 - 1680, and died June 1714 in Jamaica3 [see Emily below.]  She married (3) Robert Baillie October 25, 1719 in St. Catherine4.  He died 1725. Feurtado states that he was the Member of Assembly for St. Dorothy in 1721, and for St. Ann in 1722.

Notes for Lawrence Halstead:
He may have been the Capt. Lawrence Halstead who was in Barbados in 1667-1668, where he witnessed the will of James Clinkett, who owned land next to his in the parish of St. Peters or St. Andrews, and for whom he was a pallbearer (from "English Settlers in Barbados.")

Laurence Halstead was a Quaker in Barbados in 1667.

According to Feurtado, and Livingston's "Sketch Pedigrees", he was Member of the Assembly for St. John in 1706, 1709, St. Dorothy 1719, St. Mary 1721.

In the Parish Register for St. Dorothy, at the time of his burial, he was listed as Colonel Halstead.  In the St. Catherine Register he was listed as Capt. John Halstead buried at Old Harbour.

     In the name of God Amen. I Mary Bailey of the Parish of St. Catherine in the said Island Widow being weak in Body but of sound and disposing Mind memory and Understanding, thanks be to almighty God for the same, Do make my last Will and Testament in manner and form following Imprimis, I will and desire that all my just Debts and funeral Expences be in the first place fully paid and satisfied by my Executor herein after named.
Item I give and bequeath unto my loving Son Lawrence Halsted of the Parish of St. Thomas in the Vale in the Island aforesaid Esq. the Sum of fifty pounds current money of Jamaica to buy mourning.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandson William Halsted Esq. the Son of the said Lawrence Halsted the sum of fifty pounds like Money aforesaid to buy Mourning.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Grand Daughter Sarah Lewin the Wife of Richard Lewin Merchant the Sum of fifty pounds like Money to buy Mourning
Item I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughter Mary White the Wife of Charles White Merchant the sum of fifty pounds like money aforesaid to buy Mourning.
Item, I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Matthew Halsted Merchant, the Sum of fifty pounds of like current Money to buy Mourning

And Lastly, I nominate constitute and appoint my good Friend Andrew Arcedechne of the Parish of St Catherine aforesaid Esqr. sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all former and other Will or Wills by me at anytime heretofore made allowing this only to be my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and affixed my Seal this twenty fifth Day of July in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty five.

Memorandum this 19th of August 1756 personally came and appeared before me John Fagan and made Oath upon the Holy Evangelist that he was present and did see Mary Bailey the Testatrix within mentioned being then of sound Mind Memory and Understanding make her Mark and seal publish and declare the within written Instrument to be her last Will and Testament and that at the same time Sarah Draper and James Phillips were also present and together with him subscribed their Names as Witnesses to the same in the presence of the said Testatrix and further that he knows nothing of any other Will since made by the said Testatrix which may tend to the Disadvantage of the Will within written saving the Codicills hereunto annexed.

Memorandum this 19th of August 1756 Personally came and appeared before me John Fagan and made Oath upon the Holy Evangelists that he was present and did see Mary Bailey the Testatrix within named being then of sound Mind and Memory make her Mark to and seal publish the within written Instrument to be a Codicil to be deemed and taken as part of her last Will and Testament, and that at the same time Mary Howell and Ann Lemen were also present and together with him subscribed their Names as Witnesses to the same in the presence of the said Testatrix, and further that he knows nothing of any other Will or Codicil since made by the said Testatrix which may tend to the Disadvantage of the Will hereunto annexed and Codicil within written save one other Codicil hereunto annexed.

A Codicil to the Will of Mary Bailey to be taken and deemed as part and parcel thereof.
     I Mary Baily Widow do make this Codicil to my last Will and Testament which I will to be taken as part and parcel of my said Will and to be of equal Validity with it, that is to say, I Give and bequeath to my Son Lawrence Halsted one annuity or rent Charge of one hundred Pounds pr Annum for and during his natural Life to be paid to him the said Lawrence Halsted by my Executors in my said Will mentioned and appointed by two equal Payments, the first of which Payments to be made one Month after my Decease. In Witness whereof I have to this Codicil set my Hand and Seal this 9th Day of July in the Year of our Lord 1756
