Owners of Coffee Plantations and Sugar Estates
The Directory was divided into the Kingston Business Directory, which listed occupants alphabetically by Street, and the Island Business Directory which listed occupants by Post Office in each Parish. Although most were business-people, the list included Penkeepers and Ministers of various Churches. Please refer to the maps listed on the Members' pages, or in the Photos section, to identify the streets and towns listed. Here are the links and topics :
On 4 separate pages I have reproduced the advertising that appeared in the Directory. The items advertised, as well as the manner of presentation, presents an interesting study of the culture and time. Names of the people in the ads are highlighted in Red to aid the reader.
