JAMAICA ROMAN CATHOLIC ARCHIVES

The volumes in the Roman Catholic Archives are housed in the Chancery in Kingston, Jamaica.

The Reverend McLaughlin has undertaken the task of trying to preserve the old records. The Registers are now kept in a vault.

I met with the Reverend McLaughlin in August, 2002. He spread out the early Roman Catholic records on the conference table, and I was able to sort through them to determine which records had not been transcribed for this site. This photograph was taken after eliminating the baptisms I already had. After this we went through marriages and burials. I had photocopies made of 20 Registers.
