This book was written over the space of many years, and finally completed in September 1954, by Daniel L. Ogilvie, who was born September 9, 1883. The book was dedicated to his son, Dr. Jasper G. Ogilvie, D.D.S. It is published here with the permission of Dr. Ogilvie's late widow, Pearl Ogilvie, and of his son, Donovan Ogilvie.
The entire book has been transcribed, and may be accessed from the following links:
The text is supported by a Map of Trelawny and photographs of the Parish and people (listed under Trelawny).
Personal note from the author of this website: As a child, I often visited Mr. Dan Ogilvie along with my parents. Over a period of many years, I witnessed his dedication to the task of writing the history of his beloved parish in his office and workroom. From the beams overhead hung his other project--his own coffin, which he had made himself. My mother went to school with Jasper O'Gilvie and Pearl, his future wife. Jasper was our dentist.
