Charles Campbell, M. D., Esq., and Chas. Goldie, Esq., have been appointed Churchwardens for Kingston.
The Honble. H. J. Kemble has been appointed Custos of Kingston. No new names have been added to the Grand Commission.
Charles Jeffrey, Esq., has been appointed Judge of the Falmouth District Court in the room of the late Judge Davidson.
The following Gentlemen have been appointed the Municipal Board for Kingston, namely, the Hon. H. J. Kemble, D. J. Alberga, H. J. Bicknell, C. Campbell, M. D., R. J. C. Hitchins, Henry Hutchings, John Parry, and C. A. Robinson, Esqrs. The only new name is that of Mr. Bicknell, in the room of J. Brown, Esq., Chairman of the late Board, who has retired. The same gentlemen will constitute the Road Board.

At Rymesbury Pen, Clarendon, on Wednesday, the 27th ultimo, the wife of Mr. Henry Clough, of a daughter.
Died
At his Residence, Boston, in the Parish of Portland, on the morning of Sunday the 31st December, 1871, in his 61st year, The Reverend Thomas Tromp Tyrrell Orgill, B. A. Oxon., for over 33 years Island Curate of Saint Marks District in the same parish.
At his residence, Duke Street, at 1 oclock this morning, Mr. Emanuel Lyons, merchant of this city. The Funeral will take place at four oclock this evening.

George Henry, the culprit who was convicted at the last Mandeville Circuit Court for the murder of James Ellis, at Green Pond, Manchester, on the 9th May last, was executed on the 15th December, within the walls of the Mandeville District Prison. The prisoner died without making any reliable confession, at one time admitting the deed, at another denying it. He partook of a hearty breakfast, before he was taken from his cell.
The Friends and Acquaintances of Captain Charles Williams are requested to attend his remains from his late residence, No. 6, Chancery Lane, to the place of interment at half-past four oclock This Evening.
Died
At the Rectory, St. Dorothy, loved and respected by all who knew her, Mary Elizabeth, the beloved wife of the Revd. S. H. Cooke, Rector of St. Thomas. The deceased was born on the 27th day of October, 1796; married on the 16th March, 1816; and departed this life on the 1st day of January, 1872.

Dr. Smith, of the Kingston Public Hospital, has been appointed Government Medical Officer for one of the vacant Districts in the Parish of St. Ann.

A Gazette Extraordinary was published on the 6th, containing the following announcements:
His Excellency Sir John Peter Grant, K. C. B., Captain General and Governor-in-chief of Jamaica and its Dependencies, having left the Island on a visit to the Colony of Turks Islands, the Honorable Edward Everard Rushworth, D. C. L., as Lieutenant Governor, has assumed the Administration of the Government of Jamaica, until the return of the Captain-General and Governor-in-Chief.
His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor has been pleased to make the following appointments, viz:
William Alexander George Young, to act as Colonial Secretary and as Revenue Commissioner.
The Gazette of the 4th instant contains the appointment of the Parochial Boards for St. Andrew. The Municipal Board will consist of the Hon. J. H. McDowell, Chairman; Wm. Barclay, John McLean, M. C. Morgan, and J. T. Orrett Esq. During the absence of Mr. McDowell, Mr. Barclay will act as chairman. The Churchwardens are Augustus Miles and J. T. Orrett, Esqrs.
The Road Board will consist of the Hon. J. H. McDowell, Chairman, Wm. Barclay, D. A. Campbell, G. Henderson, Esqrs., Rev. H. H. Isaacs, J. H. Jones, Esq., Hon. H. J. Kemble, H. Mais, O. Marescaux, Esqrs., the Rev. H. P. C. Melville, J. McLean, Aug. Miles, and M. C. Morgan, Esqrs., Mr. Barclay to act as Chairman in the absence of Mr. McDowell. Mr. McLean is also named a member of the Board of management of the Union Poor House.

A Correspondent at Port Royal writes to say that the Congregation of Saint Peters, of that Town, have elected the Rev. Horace Scotland as Pastor of their Church.
Mr. D. D. Soares has been appointed Health Officer and Inspector of Nuisances for the parish of St. Catherine.
The Lieutenant Governor has been pleased to accept the resignation by John Coates Land, Esq., M. D., of his Commission as a Justice of the Peace for the Parish of St. Catherine.
Mr. Rampini, of Mandeville, Mr. Smith, of Montego Bay, and Mr. Drake, of Kingston, are the District Court Judges named by the Governor to exercise the pwer granted under Law 26 of 1871, to make and from time to time revoke and alter the prescribed rules required to be made for the District Courts.

The estimation in which the deceased was held during her lifetime, was amply testified by the large concourse of persons, of all classes, who attended her mortal remains, to their last resting place.
