The Surrey Assize Court was opened on Tuesday. The Judges on the bench were, his Honour the Chief Justice Andrew Johnston, John Jaques, George Kinghorn, and Robert Donaldson, Esqrs.

The sugar estates in the parish of Vere will, this year, as well as those in Liguanea, fall considerably short of their usual crops, in consequence of the severe drought.
