INDEX TO EXTANT WILLS RECORDED IN THE SUPREME COURT 1725-1882

L - Y

Items 1 and 2 the court in which these wills were probated is not identified, but they were recorded in the Supreme Court.

Items 3 and 4 were transmitted to the Records Office in Spanish Town with notes indicating: "List of all wills from the District Courts recorded in the Office of the Supreme Court of Judicature since the coming into operation of the Judicature Law 1879 (Law 24 of 1879)."

Item 5 contained a letter stating that the author was sending: "Six original Wills specified in the enclosed Schedule A, on which probate ... has been granted by the Supreme Court .... I also send herewith original wills specified in Schedule B which have been proved and recorded in the several District Courts, and also recorded in this Office." The six wills probated in the Supreme Court were for Sarah Mackay, Charles Davis, Ephraim Athias, George T. Farquharson, James G. Doorley, Theophilus Messop. All other wills in item 5 were District Court Wills.
