        This is the Last Will and Testament of me AMBROSINE LOUISE DUFFUS of "Oxford", Oxford Road, in the Parish of Saint Andrew.
        1. I hereby revoke all wills and testamentary documents heretofore made by me and declare this alone to be my Last Will and Testament.
        2 I hereby nominate constitute and appoint Oscar Charles Gosden (hereinafter called "MY TRUSTEE ") as my personal representative and the Executor of this my Will.
        3. I give and bequeath my bedroom furniture (except my bedstead) unto my Trustee IN TRUST to divide the same between my daughters WILHELMINA DUNCAN and BEATRICE BRANDON his decision to be acceptable to and be final as between the parties. I except from the bedroom furniture however my marble top press washstand which I give and bequeath to my daughter CLAIRE GOSDEN.
        4. I give and bequeath my bedstead with its appurtenances to EDITH TAYLOR.
        5. I give and bequeath my drawing room furniture to ETHEL DUFFUS.
        6. My dining room furniture, crockery and glass ware I give and bequeath to my Executor in trust to divide equally between my daughters EDITH TAYLOR, ETHEL DUFFUS, HILDA CLAIRE GOSDEN and WILHELMINA DUNCAN his division and decision to be final.
        7. Having regard to the fact that my property known as "Oxford" on the Oxford Road Saint Andrew has been purchased by me with proceeds derivable from No. 108 Princess Street in the City and Parish of Kingston, which my husband the late EDWARD DUFFUS devised to his children after my death by his last Will and Testament, I hereby declare that I am a Trustee with respect to the same and therefore give and devise "Oxford" aforesaid in the following manner: --

                (a)  One-ninth share to IRIS POWELL, CYSLINE AGATHA VENDRYES, LINA NOAD, MONICA ISABEL DUFFUS and CLAUDINE DUFFUS, the daughters of EDWARD JOSELYN DUFFUS (Deceased).
                (b) One-ninth share to WILHELMINA DUNCAN
                (c) One-ninth share to BEATRICE BRANDON
                (d) One-ninth share to EDITH TAYLOR
                (e) One-ninth share to CLIFFORD UNDERWOOD GRANNUM, eldest son of LOUISE GRANNUM (deceased)
                (f) One-ninth share to LESLIE LEYTON DUFFUS, eldest son of WILLIAM CONSTANTINE DUFFUS (deceased)
                (g) One-ninth share to ETHEL DUFFUS
                (h) One-ninth share to LEONARD FLETCHER, grandchild of CORELLA GREEN (Deceased)
                (i) One-ninth share to HILDA CLAIRE GOSDEN
        8. All the rest, residue and remainder of my property of whatsoever kind, the same may be or wheresoever situate, I give devise and bequeath to my Trustee in trust to realize and pay all my debts, funeral and testamentary expenses and then divide the balance thereafter in the following manner: -
                (a) One-fourth to my daughter ETHEL DUFFUS
                (b) One-fourth to my daughter HILDA C. GOSDEN
                (c) The remaining half to be divided in equal proportions between my other three daughters WILHELMINA DUNCAN, EDITH TAYLOR and BEATRICE BRANDON. In the event of any of my children mentioned in this Paragraph predeceasing me then I direct that the share of one or of more predeceasing me as aforesaid shall go to her child or children in equal shares and if one child only to such on absolutely.
        In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand to this my Will this Twenty-seventh day of November in the year One thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-four.

        This is a CODICIL to the Last Will and Testament of me AMBROSINE LOUISE DUFFUS.
        1. I give and bequeath to my grandchild IVY GRANNUM an equal share with my other daughters mentioned in sub-paragraph 8 (c) of my said Last Will and Testament which is hereon and is dated the Twenty-seventh day of November in the year One thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-four.
        2. I will and desire that should any one or more of the Devisees mentioned in my Will
predecease me the share or interest given to him or her shall go the child or children of such Devisee so predeceasing me as aforesaid.
        3. In all other respects I confirm my said Will.
        In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand to this Codicil to my Last Will and Testament the fifth day of November One thousand Nine hundred and Twenty-four.

WILL OF EDWARD HEDLEY
Entered 24th October, 1829

Jamaica SS:
In the name of God, Amen.  I EDWARD HEDLEY of the Parish of Saint James in the Count of Cornwall and Island aforesaid Merchant being of sound mind Memory and Judgment do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following viz:
Item I will and devise that the sum of £20 sterling shall be paid to my poor father Yearly and every Year during his natural life out of a Sum or Sums to be raised out of my Estate real and personal (and hereafter devised and bequeathed) and such sum or sums to be invested in good and lawful security or securities by my Executors hereinafter named and appointed, and that the said annuity be paid every 6 months free of all deductions.
Item I will and bequeath unto my brother SAMUEL HEDLEY all my Watches of whatever kind I may die possessed with their appendages together with a Silver Goblet and all my Musical instruments
Item I will and bequeath unto my Dear sisters ELEANOR MARY and HANNAH all my Gold and Silver Coins silver plate and Trinkets of whatsoever kind together with Five Guineas to each and every of them to purchase a Ring or Brooch to wear for my sake or apply it to whatever purpose they think fit.
Item I will and bequeath unto my Brother JOHN the sum of £10 sterling (exclusive of what if hereinafter bequeathed to him) to be paid to him free of all deductions.
Item I give and bequeath unto the poor of my native parish (Elsdon) the sum of £10 to be paid free of expence on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday one year after my decease by my brother Samuel Hedley one of my Executors.
I will and declare that as soon as possible after my decease my Executors in this Island hereinafter named and appointed will proceed to sell and dispose of to the greatest advantage all my real and personal Estate of whatsoever kind namely my Messuage or settlement called Cheviot House situated in Duke Street Montego Bay all my Slaves Stock Household furniture and Goods and Chattels of whatsoever kind or appertaining thereto with the reservations aforesaid and the same converted into money by my said Executors in this Island and the profits and proceeds to be remitted in the least expensive manner by them to my Brother Samuel Hedley my other Executor for the purposes hereinbefore mentioned and expressed and the remainder thereof to be equally divided among my Brothers and Sisters or their issue lawfully begotten namely ELEANOR, ANTHONY, WILLIAM, MARY JOHN HANNAH and SAMUEL share and share alike equally divided
And lastly I nominate and appoint JOHN CLEGHORN of the parish of St. James, and WILLIAM REEVES of the parish of Trelawny Esquires, both in the County of Cornwall and Island aforesaid and SAMUEL HEDLEY of the County and town of Newcastle upon Tyne my true and lawful Executors
I have affixed my name and seal this 1st day of January 1829.

CODICIL TO MY Will date the 1st January 1829.  And Whereas I have bequeathed in my Will the sum of £10 unto the poor of the parish in which I was born, namely Elsdon, I hereby revoke and make null this bequest.
I leave and bequeath unto SARAH JAMES A FREE Sambo Woman a Female Slave named NANCY alias SARAH together with her mulatto child named ELIZABETH
I give and bequeath unto my reputed Child by a Mulatto Slave named ANN HEATLEY, belonging to Somerton Estate, of this Parish, the sum of £400 currency, for the purpose of his manumission and Education
I leave and bequeath to the said Ann Heatley the sum of £50 currency.

WILL OF JAMES HEDLEY
Entered 23rd June 1821

In the name of God Amen.  I JAMES HEDLEY of York Estate in the Parish of Westmoreland in the County of Cornwall and Island aforesaid being at present of sound mind memory and judgment and being duly sensible of the great uncertainty of human Existence so make & ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following viz:
Imprimis I will and devise that my body be decently buried and all any just debts together with my funeral expences paid and discharged by my Executors hereinafter named and appointed out of monies arising from the Sale of real and personal Estate as will be hereinafter directed viz
I will and desire that my moiety or share of Catadupa and Mocho Plantations together with all my Right and Title to every thing thereunto belonging (Sixty Acres of Guinea Grass Land more or less excepted any hereinafter mentioned) with 42 Acres of Guinea Grass Land Situate and adjoining Spring Garden Estate called Belmont all in the parish of St. James shall be sold to the best advantage and converted into Monies by my Executors as soon as possible after my decease to enable them to pay my just debts Legacys as herein set forth also to enable them to purchase the other moiety of Sixty acres of Guinea Grass Land more or less situate and lying and adjoining the King's Road from Montego Bay near Broughton in the said parish of Saint James at present jointly possessed by William Fairclough Esquire and myself under the same Tenancy as Catadupa and Mocho Plantations that such may be a Resting place for my Barquadero Cattle in carrying down my Produce from my said Estate called York so long as the latter continues to be my property.  I  also will and desire that all my personal Estate shall be sold and converted into monies as aforesaid except what may be requisite and required to carry on the operations of my said Estate called York and such further exceptions as will hereinafter be enumerated.
Item I will devise and bequeath unto my three reputed Quadroon Children ANN FRANCES and JANE HEDLEY 30 acres of my Land part of Wedderburns Run of Land adjoining Miss Mary Reid on the west and the new Savannah Road on the East with a comfortable dwelling House to be built thereon for their joint use and Residence and to their Heirs for ever together with all my household Furniture wearing apparel two Black Mares and their followers or two in their Room  & instead & £30 currency per annum to one and each of them with three barrels of good Herrings a bolt of oznaburgs 40 yards of Blue Baize ___ Caps & annually for their joint use to feed and clothe their respective Slaves and for such time and periods as will be hereinafter set forth and directed I also bequeath to my said reputed Daughters respectively viz
to ANN HEDLEY a Girl Slave named ANN HILTON HEDLEY
to JANE HEDLEY a Boy Slave named EDWARD HEDLEY
and to FRANCES HEDLEY a Girl Slave named ANN HEDLEY
to their own proper use and behoof forever
Item I will devise and bequeath unto MARY HILTON mother of my said reputed Daughters the sum of £50 Currency a Mule named James and ten Acres of Land immediately adjoining the 30 acres of Land bequeathed to my reputed Daughters aforesaid and said Ten acres of Land to devolve at the death of the said Mary Hilton to my said reputed Daughters and their heirs for ever
Item I will devise and bequeath to my much respected friend Mrs. CHARLES CAMPBELL of the Parish of Trelawny my Gold watch chain and Seal the latter bearing my Initials.
Item I will devise and bequeath unto my 3 dearly beloved sisters ELIZABETH JANE and FRANCES and to each of them or their lawful Issue the sum of £20 sterling per annum during such period as will hereinafter be specified
Item I will devise and bequeath unto my God Son RICHARD EDDLESTON COOK son of WILLIAM COOK Esquire of Chester Castle Estate in the Parish of Hanover (at present an absentee) £100 sterling
Item I will devise and bequeath unto EDWARD HEDLEY of the Parish of Saint James all my Right and Title to a piece or parcel of Land Situate and lying in Montego Bay at or near a place called the Creekhead at present held under tenure of Life Rent by Grace Trout to him and his heirs for ever together with my Military Sword and Duk Gold seal with the Hedleys Coat of Arms thereon a Horse named Wellington and my Silver Goblets as presented to me by the Parish of Saint James which I request may not be sold but descend to his heirs forever
Item I will and desire that a Barrel of good Pork may be given to my woman Slave named SALLY TROUT and that a comfortable House be provided her so long as she remains my property for her care & attention in bearing her children and Grand children
I also will and devise that my mulatto woman Slave named MARY TUCKER shall be provided with a Barrel of good Pork annually so long as she continues my property for which she is to attend the woman in child bed sickness etc. etc. as may be deemed necessary by my Executors and it is my further will and desire and charge to my Executors and they are hereby empowered to manumise the said MARY TUCKER'S two Quadroon children in case Mr. HENRY COLLINS should feel a wish to provide the means to carry it into effect that is to say he Henry Collins to pay a fair and reasonable price for the said 2 Quadroon children as shall be impartially paid by my Executors but be this under the proviso that he Henry Collins do first adjust all my accounts and explain every matter or thing to the best of his judgment & ability to the satisfaction of my Executors for which his Salary etc. is to be continued as in my life time
Item I will and desire that all the rest residue and remainder of my Estate real or personal not hereinbefore devised may remain unsold for the period of Ten years after my decease under the management and direction of my Executors they giving a just and faithful account of all the proceeds arising therefore and such Proceeds to be applicable to discharging and paying off of any debts of my Estate and at the end of the 10 years then shall my Executors proceed & bring to sale as speedily as possible all my Estate real and personal that is to say my estate or Sugar Works called York together with the 60 acres of Grass Land before mentioned with all my Slaves Stock Crops & comprising all my Estate not heretofore devised or bequeathed and the Monies derived therefrom I leave and bequeath to my 3 sisters and my 3 Quadroon Daughters before mentioned equally divided or to their heirs for ever, and that as soon as this is accomplished all my before mentioned annuities or bequests to be paid or given annually do cease and be then and henceforward of none effect.
Be it observed by my Executors that WILLIAM FAIRCLOUGH Esquire is at this time justly due and owing to me the sum of £500 or thereabouts for and on account of Disbursements &  trouble in attending the Grand Court in Spanish Town in a Cause Dixon & Segnion? vs Hazelymple Greenwich Ducketts & Cambridge Estates respecting a certain  Run of Land and that he Mr. Fairclough has promised and does promise to allow and pay me a moiety of Commissions arising from the Sales made and to be made of Land belonging to the said Dixon & Segnion? and that he Mr. Fairclough will give credit for the Spokes and Slaves had from Catadupa & Mocho Plantations as awarded me in John Hanson? Clarke's, Rossert and  Reid also observed that he Mr. Fairclough will then fall in my debt all the Waggons Carts Lumber old Iron Nails etc. on Catadupa & Mocho Plantations I am to have for the sum of £30 currency as Mr. WILLIAM ECCLESTON's valuations all the Stock at present on Catadupa & Mocho Plantations are my individual property, also be it observed that the 3 cows and their followers left behind by Mrs. Weise on said Plantations I am to have be agreement at the same rate as the other cows.
I also in the case of my sudden death nominate and appoint to act in my room as Attorney or Attornies for Chester Castle Estate in the parish of Hanover the property of WILLIAM COOK Esquire EDWARD HEDLEY of the parish of Saint James and  JOHN BLACKBURN of the Parish of Hanover
It is also my wish that my Executors will see that the new Road from York to Chester Castle is completed with all speed
And Lastly I nominate constitute and appoint CHARLES CAMPBELL Esquire of the parish of Trelawny JAMES CUNNINGHAM Esquire of the parish of Saint James and in case he should die or depart from the Island then GEORGE CUNNINGHAM of the said Parish to act in his stead, and in case they should both die or be absentees then their brother SAMUEL CUNNINGHAM of the Parish of Trelawny to act in their stead EDWARD HEDLEY of the parish of Saint James and JOHN BLACKBURN of the parish of Hanover to be my true and lawful Executors and in case any of my relations Heirs or Claimants heretofore enumerated or otherwise should express dissatisfaction at the tenor of my said Will or display any inclinations to put it to issue in any Court or Courts of Law or in Equity then it is my Will and desire that all such shall be excluded from any benefit ensuing from my said Estate real or personal either bequeathed or otherwise.
I have affixed my hand and Seal this 21st day of December 1820

        1.  James1 Manahan died 1873.  He married Mary Anne (Manahan) Bef. 1849.  

WILL of James Manahan:

This is the Last Will and Testament of me James Manahan of Koningsburg Estate in the Parish of Saint Mary Jamaica.  
Whereas a house in the Town of Buff Bay in the Parish of Portland was bought and the Title deed recorded in the names of my children JAMES HENRY MANAHAN,  HELENA ELIZA MANAHAN, EDWIN DEVEREUX MANAHAN, JOHN AUGUSTUS MELVIN MANAHAN I hereby direct my afternamed Executrix to see that the value of the above mentioned house in Buff Bay be equally distributed amongst my above named children.
AND Whereas the properties Prior Park and the Vinery and the Title deeds made out and recorded in the names of  JAMES HENRY MANAHAN,  HELENA ELIZA MANAHAN, EDWIN DEVEREUX MANAHAN, JOHN AUGUSTUS MELVIN MANAHAN, PATRICK ALEXANDER MANAHAN and SUSAN EVANGELINE MANAHAN, I hereby direct my afternamed Executrix to see that the properties Prior Park and the Vinery be equally divided share and share alike amongst the said devisees
AND Whereas I have one acre of Land with a House upon it at Enfield in the Parish of Saint Mary, and Twenty-five acres of land at Cunning Park in the Parish o Portland, I hereby give and devise them both to my dear wife Mary Anne Manahan.
AND Whereas I have insured my life in the Jamaica Mutual Life Insurance Office for the sum of Three hundred Pounds I direct that the same be realized and that all my cattle and horses be valued by competent valuators and that all debts and sums of money owing to me be collected AND that the amount of the above personal property after the payment of all my just and lawful debts, be distributed equally share and share alike, amongst my dear wife Mary Anne Manahan, and my children JAMES HENRY MANAHAN,  HELENA ELIZA MANAHAN, EDWIN DEVEREUX MANAHAN, JOHN AUGUSTUS MELVIN MANAHAN, PATRICK ALEXANDER MANAHAN and SUSAN EVANGELINE MANAHAN.
AND I further direct that Ten per cent be deducted from the full share of my personalty from each of the shares of my above named children, which ten per cent I give and devise to my dear wife Mary Anne Manahan for her sole care and benefit.
AND Whereas I have a half share in Monmouth Land I hereby direct my said half share to be sold and the proceeds to be devoted to the education of my two youngest children PATRICK ALEXANDER MANAHAN and SUSAN EVANGELINE MANAHAN.
AND I hereby appoint my dear wife MARY ANNE MANAHAN the Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament and the Guardian of our children under twenty one years of age.

This is the Last Will and Testament of JOHN AUGUSTUS MELVIN MANAHAN of Jubilee Pen in the Parish of Portland in the Name of God. Amen.
I JOHN AUGUSTUS MELVIN MANAHAN do hereby give and bequeath unto my daughters EDITH CAROLINE DUNBAR, ADA ELIZA LOUISE MANAHAN, SUSIE ISABEL MIDDLETON, MILDRED MAUD KING, BEATRICE MADELINE MANAHAN, ELIZA GILMORE MANAHAN, AMY MANAHAN and VIOLET MARISA MANAHAN also my son RANDOLPH MELVIN MANAHAN All the remaining unsold portion of my Property known as Jubilee Pen, in the said Parish of Portland, for their sole use and benefit.
I also give and bequeath unto my brother EDWIN DEVEREUX MANAHAN, my sons GLADSTONE GEORGE MANAHAN and RANDOLPH MELVIN MANAHAN also my adopted daughter LUNA MAY LEWIS All the remaining unsold portions of my Property Jubilee Town, adjoining Buff Bay in the Parish of Portland and formerly a part of Jubilee Pen, for their sole use and benefits.
I also appoint AMOS ASA MIDDLETON and ROBERT EDWARD DUNBAR my sons in law, Executors of this my last Will and I hereby revoke all former Wills and Codicils.  I also ordain my said Executors to executes all Deeds and Conveyances to parties who have hitherto purchased land from me and have not paid up, and to collect all moneys due and owing to me, and to pay my just and lawful debts if any, also my funeral expenses, and that my Property Cunning Park in the Parish of Portland be taken over by my said Executors for their sole use and benefit in remuneration of their services.
In Witness whereof I have subscribed these presents at Jubilee Pen this seventh day of November 1907 in the presence of 2 witnesses.

In the name of God, Amen.  I, James Shilleto of Westmoreland the parish and island aforesaid being in sound mind make this my last will and Testament revoking all others hitherto made by me.  
Firstly I request my Executors here after mentioned to pay all my just debts and funeral expenses.
Secondly I give and bequeath unto my heir at law the sum of Twenty shillings current money of this Island in lieu of all further or other demands.
Thirdly I give and bequeath to my three reputed children James Shellito now residing in Great Britain William John Shellito and Henry Standing Shellito in this Island of Jamaica All my real and personal property of what ever kind and where ever found share and share alike.
Fourthly I hereby appoint Henry Coote Esquire of the parish of Westmoreland and Island of Jamaica and my son aforesaid James Shellito now in Great Britain as my executors and Trustees.

In the Name of God Amen.  I WILLIAM WEBB of the parish of  Saint Ann in the County of Middlesex and Island of Jamaica Bachelor being of sound mind memory and understanding do for preventing controversies after my decease make publish and dictate this my only last will and testament manner and form following that is to say First I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it in hopes of a happy resurrection and my body I commit to the grave it to be decently interred at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named and it is my wish that only coffin Furniture and not bands be used and no __
Imprimis after all my just debts are paid I devise and bequeath to my brother JOHN WEBB £100 sterling and in case of his death to his son JOHN WEBB also to my brother JOSEPH £100 sterling £100 to his wife £100 to his son and £100 to his daughter.
Item I do give and bequeath to my sister HANNAH KIRKS and her three daughters a house and tenements situated in Ch?urh Park Street in the City of Coventry as per Codicil executed in England on the 9th day of November 1815 exclusive of tax said Codicil
I give and bequeath unto my 3 nieces daughters of my sister HANNAH KIRKS £500 sterling each if not paid in my life time to be paid immediately after my decease.
Item I give devise and bequeath to my godson William Burford the son of Robert Burford the sum of £20 sterling
Item I give devise and bequeath unto William Liggins Junior of Woolry in Leicestershire the sum of £100 sterling also to his sister Elizabeth Liggins £50 sterling and also to John Rios of Woolry the sum of £50 sterling and for the executing such purposes I constitute JOHN RIOS WILLIAM LIGGINS JUNIOR AND JOHN WEBB my Executors in England also appoint and constitute Goor__ Markay William Wary and David Richards my Executors in this Island and also bequeath to the said Executors the sum of £20 each to buy them a suit of mourning and I do request that as soon as possible after my decease that all my estate both real and personal be sold very reasonable and the money be remitted to John and Isaac Liggins London without loss of time to enable my Executors there to fulfill their part and a Copy of this my last Will and testament may be sent immediately after my decease to John Rios William Liggins Junior and John Webb the said John Rios and William Liggins living at Woolry near __urtly in Leicesterchire and I also particularly request that all debts of whatever nature or kind to be collected as soon as possible after my decease
Item I give and bequeath to my loving sisters ELIZABETH RAMY? and MARY CATHERINE SARAH and JANE the remainder and residue of my Estate and in case of their deaths to be equally divided amongst their children as John Rios William Liggins and John Webb may think most require it and also bequeath to William Liggins Senior his wife and daughter the sum of £50 sterling each __ to his youngest daughter.  
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 4th day of May 1820.

CODICIL
Whereas I and my sister HANNAH RIOS of the parish of Saint Michael in the City of Coventry  widow have jointly purchased a house or messuage situate on the East side of Murh? Park Street in the said Parish of Saint Michael with four other houses or messuages in the yard adjoining and belonging to the aforesaid house or messuage with the gardens outbuildings and appurtenances thereto belonging of Mr. James Chalmers  of the City of Coventry aforesaid printer Now I do hereby give devise and bequeath immediately after my decease all my right and share off an to the aforesaid houses or messuages gardens and appurtenances thereunto belonging unto my three nieces HANNAH ELIZABETH CARROL and CATHERINE KIRKS daughters of my aforesaid sister HANNAH KIRKS as tenants in common and not as joint tenants equally share and share alike to them their heirs and assigns for ever And I do hereby ratify and confirm my said Will in all the particulars thereof
IN Witness whereof I have to this Codicil set my hand and seal this 9th day of November 1815 [sic].
