He signed the Parish Register in North Newton from April 27,1879 through December 21, 1893.

Pilton is a parish and village in Somerset. In 1972 the population of the parish was 783, and of the ecclesiastical district 877. The village is 2 1/2 miles southwest of Shepton Mallet.

There is a note in the margin of the Parish Register next to his burial, which reads "vide notice at end of this Book." The Register was only microfilmed through the year 1900, and the notice was not microfilmed.

At the time of the 1901 census, Lucy, a widow, and her son Lancelot were visitors in B. Salteron, a village 3 miles east of Topsham, in the county of Devon. They were in the home of John Atkins and his wife Celia at Victoria Place. There were 3 other visitors there, William, Dinah and Ernest Terry. Lucy was "living on her own means".

Glasbury is a parish and village on the River Wye, 4 miles southwest of Hay, population in 1972 was 468.
