IMMIGRANTS TO JAMAICA  1841 - (3)

Return of Immigrants who have arrived in the island of Jamaica from the 30th September 1840 to the 30th September 1841 under the immigration Act 4th Victoria Chapter 23. (CO140/133. NA. Kew).  This was an Act to encourage immigration to Jamaica, after the Abolition of Slavery in 1838. The immigrants were numbered sequentially, irrespective of ships, as they were all part of one report.
