Precis:-
In this document George Lawrence of Wiltshire in
Weston Favell Estate appears to consist of seven separate pieces of land in that part of Trelawny that had previously been St James. They are near Harman’s Valley and adjacent to, and in one case part of, 15,000 acres held by the Crown for allocation to ‘newcomers’. The pieces are as follows:- 300 acres, 256 acres, 264.5 acres, 81 acres, 23 acres, 593 acres and 146 acres.
There is a detailed and very complicated description of land ownership adjacent to each property. In most cases the descriptions relate to ‘former’ owners for some reason. As with all these deeds it must have been a nightmare to ascertain the exact boundaries of each piece of land and no mention is made of any annexed plans.
