Procel. Marie Anne Denegre, widow of the late Jean Louis Briand, and wife by second marriage of Raymond Procel. Declaration: May 15, 1819, we the undersigned inhabitants of St. Domingue, refugees in Kingston for many years, certify and attest that the Revd. Guillaume Lecun, former Apostolic Prefect in St. Domingue who served the Catholic Church in Kingston died 10/16/1807 leaving behind no priest to succeed him, and it was not until May 1808 that the Revd. J. H. Rodrigues de Araujo came to take over the church, and that it is in our full knowledge that Mme. Procel [see beginning] died in Kingston 12/15/1807, and that being a strong Roman Catholic she strongly recommended to her children and others around her not to have her buried by a minister of another religion, but that her body simply be carried into the R.C. cemetery, accompanied by the faithful who attended.
