L'an mil huit cent deux, le premier jour du mois de Juin, je, pretre Missionnaire

apostolique,cure des catholiques romains de l'ile de la Jamaique soussigne, ai solennelement batise Elisabeth, Adelaide,felicite,Demoiselle , fille legitime de Monsieur henry, francois,scipion de Rostaing, aide major au regiment de Piemont,au service de sa majeste le Roi deSardaigne, et de Madame Adelaide de Ponthieu, Dame de Rostaing, actuellement en cette ville de Kingston, ou l'enfant est ne le trente Avril dernier .

A ete parrain Monsieur Felix Cadiot et Marraine Madame Pauline Elisabeth de Ponthieu Dame Guirau,tante maternelle de l'enfant, qui ont signe avec nous ainsi que le pere et la mere de l'enfant presents.

Signe a l'original; de Ponthieu de guiran;felix Cadiot, De Ponthieu De Rostaing;f.de Rostaing,Mahiet de jouette, jouette, Magnan, M de Jouette..........illisible a l'ile de la Jamaique.

Extract from the register of baptisms for the Roman Catholic church in Kingston, Jamaica, for the year 1802, where the following is written:

On June 1, 1802, I, missionary and curate etc., baptized Miss Elisabeth Adelaide Felicite, legitimate daughter of Mr. Henry Francois Scipion de Rostaing, second in command of a battalion of the Piemont Regiment, in the service of His Majesty the King of Sardinia, and of Mrs. Adelaide de Ponthieu, wife of Rostaing, presently in this city of Kingston, where the child was born on April 30th last. The godfather was Mr. Felix Cadiot, and the godmother Mrs. Pauline Elisabeth de Ponthieu wife of Guirau, the child's maternal aunt, who signed along with the father, mother, and me.
