Respecting the Marriages celebrated by Messrs Johnson & Young, I can say nothing as to the fees received but since I have been Rector of the Parish I have never made a demand of any fee from Slaves, leaving it entirely to the parties themselves, or their owners, to pay what they thought proper, or could afford. The amount is usually a Pistole.                                                                                                                                                                                        THOMAS ALVES, RECTOR, PORT ROYAL.
