Montego Bay

Rev. E. McNeil
Upton
Montego Bay

Dear Mr. McNeil,

I am very sorry to trouble you. . .

We are looking after a matter for the bearer, Miss Mary Lloyd, who has a claim against a certain Insurance Company in connection with the death of her father, the late Samuel E. Lloyd, deceased.

Samuel E. Lloyd was born at Montego Bay somewhere around the year 1876 or 1877; and as you know the Registration of Births, Marriages & Deaths did not come into force until around 1886; so we have been unable to procure a copy of the Registration of his birth at Spanish Town.

We are informed that the deceased was a Methodist…could you oblige us by looking up the records to see if the birth of Samuel E. Lloyd is entered there?

P.S.  I am assuming that you have such a Record there at Upton.
