WESLEYAN METHODIST BAPTISMS
BROWN'S TOWN CIRCUIT, ST. ANN, JAMAICA

1861-1876

A - I

The Brown's Town Circuit included several meeting places.  On some of the entries in the registers, an abbreviation of the place name was included in the record in parentheses, as follows:
(B. T.) or (BT) = Brown's Town
(S. T.) or (ST) = Stewart Town, Trelawny
(Eb) = Ebenezer
(Eccl) = Eccleston
(Tab) = Tabernacle

Evidently the pages in the records of baptisms in this circuit for 1839 to 1892 became loose.  To prevent a further loss of pages, at some point in time the loose pages were bound together, but not in date order, and page numbers were then assigned to the bound pages.  Each entry spread across the left and right hand pages, which were assigned one page number.  The page numbers transcribed here are therefore not in date order.

The dates included in this section of the double-pages of the records from Brown's Town are:
April 1874 to April 1876
January 1869 to October 1873
August 1863 to December 1868
March 1861 to June 1863
