Theobald had no issue by his wife, "and after her decease was to be married to Lady Dowager Owens, but upon some fit of sickness took Physick, and after that some Laudanum to compose him to rest, which 'tis said gave him so sound a sleep, that he never awaked after, but departed this life the very night the nuptials were to be celebrated. Whatever year he died in, he was still alive in 1666."
